My husband and I have a fabric library in the garment center and Liz and her husband Art Ortenberg were customers when they first went into business. I met Liz at a Saks Fifth Avenue show and told her who I was and she was so gracious about our product and how useful the swatches were to her.
 | Michelle K. | 07/19/07 | |
My mother taught me about Liz clothes when I started working. We wear nothing else. I started my best friend on Liz purses, and we carry nothing else. When my best friend called to say Liz had passed I truly felt like I had lost a long time friend. She will still be part of what I share with my mother and friends. Bless her soul.

Liz Clairborne has always been on top of fashion. I will miss her.

Liz Claiborne was an icon.Forward looking, refined & well made clothes that always fit well & make me feel good. (I'm a petite) My daughter, Christine had the good fortune of being a model for the childrens' line in the 1980's. It was always so special for us when she modeled at the Showroom and location shoots. I was always impressed by the lovely professional Claiborne staff. My husband and son wear the Claiborne Men clothes, also.
 | Lynne K. | 07/19/07 | |
Liz is a traditional clothing I count on for most of my wardrobe needs. The fit and price cannot be matched. Thanks Liz.

i have been shopping and wearing liz for a long time i love first issue.
i have recently shipped the outlet in secaucus over the last 3 or 4 days and have found soome great values as well as quality merchandise as always. i have also experienced something that i thought was gone forever....customer service.on friday the 13th i met isabel twice once on my lunch hour and then when i returned in the evening after work she actually remembered me and was very helpful and courteous.
today the 18th i returned with a friend and was pleasantly surprised to meet betsey who as i'm sure you know is working for your co. for 7 years. i am a former retail manager and i am very impressed by the standard you have instilled in your secaucus location to continue a long lost feeling of shopping in a store where the staff remembers who you are.
please keep up the good work.

Liz Claiborne was one of the biggest trend setters during my teenage years. It was the Liz handbag that all girls had to have, along with the jeans. As I grew up, I have always adored her line of business suites and I feel that she truly was a huge icon these past 30 years. I also admired her for her strengths and compassion for the stop the violence with love is not abuse web site. I will truly miss her. Thank you Liz for everything!
 | Betsy S. | 07/18/07 | |
Liz has graced my closet for years. The design style has become obvious to me without even looking at the tag. Liz has left us, but her style will remain forever. Thank you, Liz for your touch upon so many lives.

Just found out about Liz's passing on this website. What a tragedy! Liz was such a classy lady and really impacted the fashion world including me! I have always adored her class, style, perseverance, creativity and her awesome perfumes! She will be missed much but also greatly remembered. I Will carry her in my heart as I know others will. I will pray for her family. They were all blessed to have her in their lives as well as the entire world.
 | Richard J. | 07/16/07 | |
She was the greatest in person and business. We lost a darling.
 | Wanda C. | 07/16/07 | |
I was one of those early business women faced with the difficult task of finding something suitable to wear at a time when the best thing available in stores was a pantsuit. It was too difficult to fit into an unwelcome environment, a professional's job, without the added difficulty of presenting an appropriate appearance that helped gain respect. Liz Claiborne designs came at the right time then and as I aged Liz Claiborne now offers stylish clothing that is comfortable and attractive for my retirement years. All in all she just kept giving us what we needed. I hope her legacy is a company that continues to follow the clear path that she established.

I had no idea that Liz Claiborne had died! My deepest sympathy to her family and countless number of people who will truly miss her. I'm quite sure that she must have been a sweet, kind and caring person even to people that she barely knew. I along with countless of people would have loved the pleasure of meeting in person. You should do a show on the life of remarkable Liz Claiborne. Her clothes line and accessories are fabulous. I'm petite and I've always shopped at Liz Claiborne that's located in Sec., N.J. or myself, my daughter and other family members... I along with so many people hope that you'll continue to have the same styles that Liz Claiborne brought us. Sincerely, Ms. O. DiPalo

Liz, You have departed our earth, but your work has left it a more beautiful place. It is no accident I can remember every Liz outfit I ever owned. Like many others, I\'m sure, I scrimped and saved and waited for the sales and managed to buy two or three of those wonderfully coordinated and versatile outfits per year. Her clothing was timeless in style and in durability, and wearing it made a working stiff look and feel elegant. Thanks and Godspeed.
 | Yvonne S. | 07/14/07 | |
I just bought some new work clothes two days ago...of course all Liz! I've loved her clothes for decades. I didn't know she died! Love to you Liz!
 | Denise H. | 07/14/07 | |
I am sorry to hear of her passing, but her style will live on for years to come by many, including myself. I love Liz Clairborne clothing and I have for many years. Her taste and quality are to be desired and her name will live long by many.
 | Lee W. | 07/14/07 | |
To Ms Claiborne's family, my sincere condolences. She will remain an icon who elevated all women with her style and grace. She indeed will be missed.
 | Milana | 07/14/07 | |
I was stunned when I heard the news. My first thought was "that can't happen." Liz became more of an icon than just a person- it's like saying Betty Crocker died. It just can't happen.
 | Kaitie C. | 07/14/07 | |
Both the Fashion Industry and all, men and women alike, that enjoyed her merchandise consider her both a personal and industry loss. Her designs in all markets, whether they be small, large, home related or just the sheer 'happiness' she put into her colors and designs, will be missed. I am a larger sized women (14+) and don't know what I would have done without her clothing for the last 25 years. My heartfelt blessings and condolences go out to her personal as well as the Liz Claiborne family. May her legacy continue to live on in the lives of us all.
 | Marsha L. | 07/14/07 | |
My deepest condolences to her family and staff. Liz designed clothes for petite women that were practical and yet stylish. I especially love the Carefree 3/4 length cotton blouses and pleated Kylie cotton pants. My favorites were the petite triple pleated carefree pants. She was one of few who realized that mature women could look stylish without wearing low-rise pants.
 | milly v. | 07/14/07 | |
Ive always thought Liz Claiborne had a clear sense of style and understood the average woman. Her clothing have always fit me well. Her styles are current and also classic. It's almost as if she knew what fit me and designed her clothing just for me. I hope the people working with her captured her fashion skills and will continue to offer her sense of style.
 | mpatricia m. | 07/14/07 | |
Liz Claiborne's legacy will continue to be "lived" through the talent used to dress women with her creative, fashionable and personable style.Personally, i loved the quality;esp. since LIZ remains my first intro to the fashion world---may her family be consoled remembering the beautiful smile shown in the above picture--her clothes definitely reflect and shared it with us!thank you.
 | Wanda N. | 07/14/07 | |
Ms.Claiborne will be missed - she really designed for style, comfort and to encourage women of all ages and sizes to look their best. I will still be a Claiborne shopper. Ms.Liz left a real legacy - she was a classy person. The members of my family all knew they could not go wrong in purchasing me anything from Liz and I in return bought the Claiborne line for family and friends (male and female)they too have become members of the Claiborne followers. Please keep her standards and style.
 | Danielle | 07/13/07 | |
I send my condolences to the Claiborne family and friends. She will be missed, but her classic fashions are sure to live on for many more years. I can still remember when I bought my first Liz handbag and I felt like I had arrived. God bless and take care!

Last Christmas 2006, as a gift, I received a perfume set which included Curve Crush. I used this perfume and I got a lot of complements from others at work that I smelled wonderful. I am a plus size lady and it didn't matter my size, but the way I present myself to others and that this perfume makes me feel empowered. My gratitute goes out to Liz and I plan on buying more of the perfumes. Also, I really love the clothing line too. Wonderful styles. :)
 | Tiffany J. | 07/13/07 | |
Liz, you nailed it every time. Thank you so much.
 | Maggie J. | 07/12/07 | |
My deepest sympathy to the family. May all the wonderful memories they have of her help them through this difficult time. Liz has always been my favorite designer. She just knew what REAL women wanted to wear and how it should fit. For many years she is the ONLY deigner I have worn. May her designs and styles plus the correct "FIT" continue in her memory for years to come. I will always remember her as my closet is full of Liz clothes, shoes and purses. Rest in peace Liz.

I would like to pay tribute to Liz Claiborne whose vision of stylish apparel for all sizes (from pettite to plus) has served me and my body-type for more than thirty years. Please, please continue to design classic clothing for the Pettite-Plus size otherwise I shall have to nothing to wear.
 | MaryAnn M. | 07/12/07 | |
Liz took me through my whole working career! Couldn't have done it without her!
 | Lynda P. | 07/12/07 | |
Liz Claiborne was and is my favorite designer. When shopping in a department store, I would pick out a piece of clothing and without looking at the label it would be a Liz. My closet is filled with her designs. Some of her pieces I have been wearing for quite some time and it has held up and looks quite remarkably new. Whenever I admire someone's outfit nine out of ten times it turns out to be a Liz design. She knows how to dress women of all ages and shapes and we are truly going to miss her.
 | Donna S. | 07/12/07 | |
I had the honor of meeting Liz at a charity fashion show hosted by the Women's Auxiliary of Jeannette Hospital at the former Greengate Mall in Greensburg,PA. Liz took time out of busy schedule to attend this event. I can still see her in her 70's power suit and the tademark black glasses. Throughout my career I always wore her designs. I liked them and had a good feeling about her. I am still doing volunteer work for the hospital and every now and then someone remembers this event way back in the late 70's. What a lady!
 | Doris H. | 07/12/07 | |
My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. I have truly enjoyed wearing her clothes for many, many years. They wear so well and last forever. She will be greatly missed in the fashion industry.
 | Susan R. | 07/12/07 | |
I can remember my first Liz Claiborne outfit I got in high school in 1980-81. It was a beautiful pale, pink damask dress with a stiff white starched collar(a tad of lace trim) and a wide white satin ribbon that tied around the waist. Very classy as all of Liz's clothes were. I look in my closet today and three-fourths of my wardrobe bear her name. Liz, you are a fashion legacy that will never be matched! You gave the common working woman a sense of pride and professionalism that carried over to their personal lives. Thank you for your passion and talent, dedication and mostly generosity by thinking of the middle-class folks that could never afford the glitzy designers. It is now time to celebrate the life of a woman everbody loved, Liz Claiborne.

I LOVE LIZ CLAIBORNE! SHE HAS INSPIRED ME
 | ruth c. | 07/11/07 | |
Liz Claiborne's taste and designs in fashion have been my favorite forever. It saddens me to hear that she has passed. I pray her and her family. May she rest in peace.
 | Sylvia P. | 07/11/07 | |
My sincere condolences; first to her family and then to all the employees who loved, admired and respected her. I have been a fashion fan of Liz Claiborne since I wore size 4 to 6. I'm now twice the woman I was then, and was so grateful that she understood that we are not all runway material (I'm 4'11"). Lovely fabrics and ‘chic to spare’ made me shop 'Liz', and I was so thrilled when the 'Elizabeth' line and then the stores guaranteed a destination that would provide a cure for my shopping blues. Liz Claiborne proved that elegance and fun did not have to be mutually exclusive.
She could have rested on the laurels she won from her many fashion accolades, but she chose to channel her energy, intellect, resources and impact into environmental causes. One of the many recipients of her talent for giving ws the PBS series ‘Nature’. She was an exemplar of the credo that ‘From those to whom much is given, much is expected’. She was a class act from beginning to end, and will be missed by so many.
 | Silvana R. K. | 07/11/07 | |
Ms. Clairborn showed us that American women are sophisticated and some of us refuse to be reduced to matron's or appear ridiculous in young women's clothing. In San Francisco, where I work and live, I always feel chic because of the easy choices when chosing apparel; work or play. It seems as if Liz was my friend, she already knew about a woman's figure and what classic design's make a woman stand out in a crowd; not a teen-ager, not a young adult, but a Queen Bee! God Bless Liz Clairborn and may her memory live on in all the heart's of women - Liz, is the ultimate Queen Bee! Sincerely ---------
 | Shereen S. | 07/11/07 | |
I'm sending my condolences to the family with our prayers. And I would like to tell you that Liz has been & will be for ever my favorite designer.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Liz\'s passing. My sincere condolences to her family and friends who shared her life with her. Her legacy will live on forever. Thanks, Liz, for all the wonderfully designed and styled clothing in my closet. I could always rely on you for whatever the situation.

 | Elizabeth P. | 07/10/07 | |
First off, I'd like to send my heartfelt condolences to her "Family". I became aware of just how affordable Liz' clothes were much too late in life. Had I known, I would have been styling in her clothes for decades! I found her clothing stylish and affordable. I loved the way they fitted the typical American Woman. I was very impressed with her slacks (I love pleats) as well as her skirts. As I understand it, she was retired (that explains alot). Please continue her lines of clothing in her physical absence. I also wouldn't mind if you'd make slacks and skirts like she did in the 90s, but whatever the case, there was on one Liz Claiborne (gone but not forgotten) :-)
 | robyn t. | 07/10/07 | |
My deespest sympathy and prayers are extended to Liz's family. Without a doubt her line suited my body and personality to a T. I love her work! Please continue in her memory with the same great fashions.
 | Sylvia | 07/10/07 | |
I am a 70 yr. old size 10, who has battled and won breast cancer and had open heart surgery to repair the damage done by chemotherapy. I am continually told I do not look 70 and that is because I wear Liz Claiborne clothing and keep myself outfitted in the latest fashions. I have been wear Liz since our Belk began carrying it about 30 yrs. ago and just yesterday received by UPS my latest Liz purchases. I always know her sizes to be correct and I can buy without trying on. My condolences to her family, friends and co-workers. I was priviledged to attend a fashion show in which she was the guest designer in Charlotte, NC several years ago.
 | Barbara C. | 07/10/07 | |
I have been purchasing "Liz" since the 80's. The perfect clothing for getting into the work force. The fit is always perfect. The clothes always look fresh. "Liz" has been the mainstay of my wardrobe for many years and I hope for years to come. I can always go and grab a size 8 petite and know it will fit. Being petite it was difficult finding the right fit til I discovered "Liz" then every time I hit Macy's, I headed straight to "Liz". THANK YOU LIZ CLAIBORNE!!
 | Tessa W. | 07/10/07 | |
I have enjoyed wearing and watching Liz's styles change from year to year. I consider her styles the best. Every chance I get, I purchase shoes or clothing from her styles. I feel that she was a great women and a wonderful representative of what a woman should look, feel and act like. My prayers are with the family as they deal with their loss.

The Liz Claiborne section in the department stores has been a destination for me and for most of the women I know for nearly three decades. One of the best days of my life was when I discovered the Elisabeth line. Liz Claiborne had such a sense of style and grace. My condolences to her and her family and employees.
 | Karen | 07/09/07 | |
I was totally shocked when I heard of the passing of Liz Claiborne. Everything I have is "Liz". I am very hard to fit but I can always find something from Liz. I have bought Liz from the beginning. I hope the stylish designs continue in her memory. Sincere sympathy to her family.

Liz was not only a great designor, but a terrific business women who made wonderful contributions to the retail industry and pleased millions of shoppers. There aren't many that achieve that level of success in doing something they truely love. Hopefully, we can get a Liz Claiborne Outlet store open in our area.

Loved her menswear for years and years.. always, always the best quality..and she made me look great for so long. So sad, such a great talent is no longer with us. Sad for the fashion industry and her friends and family. Thank you so much for all the years of trendsetting fashions Liz.. Rest in Peace.

Other great Louisiana classic has passed. I was so sorry to hear of her passing. My prayers are with her family. I have been wearing Liz Clairborne fashions for a long time. Being a plus size has made me a Liz wearer forever because I can always mix and match. Her line is the only pettie plus size slacks that I don't have the altered. I have tried others occasionally throughout the past 20 years, but always come back to the fit, classic styles and durability of the Liz Claiborne lines. Keep up her style and quality.
The Outlets Stores made it wonderful to afford her creativity.
 | Maureen | 07/09/07 | |
I was so shocked to hear of her passing. I send my condolences to the family with our prayers. Being “petite” and “plus size” it was hard to find clothes that fit me properly. She made it possible. This woman took a large leap in the clothing industry as one of the few people to understand that large size women needed clothing for work and play that didn't look like large tents. Thanks Ms Claiborne. Please continue to provide us-her followers with the same style, quality and great taste of the Elisabeth Line.
 | Jan W. | 07/09/07 | |

I began my career in the early '80's - suits, blouses and ribbon ties-Liz Caliborne offered us a well put together wardrobe, classic, well-made and affordable-I gravitate to the Liz racks in all the stores and love the outlets. She will be missed but I know we'll always remember her everytime we see someone wearing "Liz" - you can't miss them!!!!
 | Mary J. | 07/09/07 | |
She must have been psychic -- her designs were what every woman wanted and wore proudly and with style for many seasons. My sincere condolences to her family.
 | Kathryn G. | 07/09/07 | |
As a size 22, my wardrobe is 95% Liz Claiborne. I have tried others occasionally throughout the past 20 years, but always come back to the fit, classic styles and durability of the Liz Claiborne lines. My only regret is that I did not contact Liz personally during her lifetime to let her know how much her designs have affected me. My confidence has been influenced by the continuous compliments I have received in her designs. Both my adult son and daughter called immediately to offer their condolences to me upon hearing of Liz's passing. They spent their childhoods knowing that each vacation would include some time spent searching for Liz fashions wherever we traveled! They know how important her work has been to me, and I will always be grateful.
 | Susan M. | 07/09/07 | |

 | Libby C. | 07/08/07 | |
My mother recently passed and I have been going through her clothes. What joyous memories of shopping for Liz Claiborne and Elizabeth clothes over the 28 years - going from store to store to get the set of matching outfits. We would swap clothes as we changed sizes because the classic designs and durable fabrics never wore out! Shopping, even pushing mom by wheel chair with oxygen, always took us to the Liz dept. When we moved to Lima, OH we would travel to Indy, Ft Wayne, Cols or Dayton to add to our collection.I have given some of our favorites that did not fit me to special friends of mom who will continue the tradition of Liz shopping! When we get to heaven I am sure that Liz will have designed new angel wings and greet us!
 | Martha S. | 07/08/07 | |
She made me a real lady when i could not afford clothes. I felt so good about myself because of Liz Claiborne. She knew what the female world was all about. She will truly be missed.
 | Mona Y. | 07/08/07 | |
I was so sad to hear of Liz Claiborne's passing. She made so many women happy with her beautiful clothes. My mother and mother-in-law would only wear her clothes.
My deepest sympathy to her family at this time.

My daughter wants to wear only Liz. My daughter is 33 and developmentally delayed she cannot read, but she knows the Liz label. She enjoys shopping at the Liz outlets and always asks me to take her there. The clothes look great on her and are easy to care for. Thanks to Liz my daughter gets to enjoy fashion and it is a bright spot in her life.
I send my condolences to Liz's family and friends.

I remember getting my first designer purse. It was a Liz Claiborne. It might as well have been a Gucci. I thought I had arrived. I remember going to the mall and picking out the purse with my soon, I thought, to be mother-in-law. She told my then fiance, her son, that I had very expensive taste. Needless to say I kept my Liz purse longer than I kept my fiance and his mother around.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and close friends of Liz Claiborne. Liz brought style and sophistication to many women through her clothing line. My favorite pieces are a very comfortable sweater and a basic black suit. Every time I wear them I receive a compliment. Thank you to Liz for sharing her style with so many!

Her clothes are cut to fit my figure perfectly. They are grown-up looking. I am 69 years young & have worn Liz's outfits for many, many years without looking like an aging pre-teen. I hope her vision will be continued.

When I started working in business in the 80s, Liz Claiborne was all I wore. She knew what young working women needed. The name means style, class and comfort!

Liz Claiborne is more than a brand it is a lifestyle. From my first purchase of a business suit when entering the professional work world in 1975 to now that I'm middle aged and a 1X, Liz has made sure I looked the part at work, provided quality and beauty at home and tantalized my senses with fragrances that provided me a special signature. I will miss her greatly and hope the traditions of quality, value and practicality will continue in her legacy. We couldn't miss her if God hadn't blessed us with her...my sincerest condolences to her family, friends and all her customers...I will miss her tremendously.
 | Diane W. | 07/06/07 | |
I will always think, when
I see the Liz Claiborne name or see it on a a label, I think of class!
 | Christa D. | 07/05/07 | |
Our sincere condolences to all the family of Liz Claiborn.
All of us, who proudly worn Liz Claiborns stunning fashions- and continue to do so, have lost a good friend. I am wearing Liz-wardrobe since many, many years, and now having retired in OR, Manzanita, enjoy fully shopping @ the Seaside-Outletmall, @ "Her" wonderful store.
Never I have left any Liz store without great success - and 2-day returned with awesome shoes, dress-mule- a gorgeous blouse and shirt for my husband - both of us love Liz`s style and always "true-fit", also her elegance and classy pieces, throughout.-
We have been out of state, @ Liz Claiborne's passing, - and I am sorry, to write @ a belated time.- Nevertheless my admiration for a great, outstanding "first Lady in fashion" - will remain always. Please continue her one of a kind style, and thank YOU for giving me this opportunity to speak about my favorite designer. Size 8 certainly looks always stunning on me- in all her clothes I love to show off.
 | Fran R. | 07/05/07 | |
When I graduated in 1982 and looked for office wear - Liz Claiborne's clothes fit right and were priced right. 25 yrs later I still find the look and fit! She had the right take on what women in business need. Many thanks, Fran
 | Dora H. | 07/05/07 | |
My favorite dress is my first Elizabeth dress. I usually can't afford designer labels, but I was at an outlet store and the price was great. That was bout 10 years ago, and do you know, I still wear that dress? It's a little faded, a little out of date, but it's a Liz and I love it.
 | Jackie N. | 07/05/07 | |
My prayers go out to the family. I enjoy wearing Liz clothing from the little black dress to the capri pants. Always a classic line of good taste and style. Love my Liz. She will be miss but not forgotten.
 | Anita F. | 07/05/07 | |
Liz Claiborne designed clothes for the fashion-conscious women who wanted to look natural, chic and well put together. Her clothes have always been "forever classic" in design and beauitfully made, an exceptional value for quality received. I was fortunate to have modeled for the Liz Claiborne store in the Westchester in White Plains for a few years, and I always felt so good in everything I wore. The staff was always courteous and enthusiastic. Whether shopping, modeling or just browsing for a look at the latest fashions by Liz Claiborne, it was always - and continues to be- a positive and valued experience. Goodbye, Liz - and God bless. We'll miss you.
 | Barbara A. | 07/05/07 | |
I am petite. Before Liz, I could not find fashionable clothes. I loved her style and sophistication. Her clothes definitely suited my taste. Thanks Liz. I will miss her and I hope her clothing line does not forget us in the future!
 | PJ D. | 07/05/07 | |
I have worn Liz clothing for years--I can always count on a good fit, great style, and lasting quality. Her styles are classy and timeless. She will be greatly missed. I hope that the company continues with its commitment to fine fashion.
 | Gail D. | 07/05/07 | |
I have really been partial to Liz\'s clothing but never knew her personally. I feel that she was truly interested in the professional woman and was very talented.
 | Paulette G. | 07/05/07 | |
I was saddened when I heard Liz Claiborne died. I felt like I knew her since I have been wearing her clothes since 1990. Ninety percent of my clothes is Liz Claiborne. Her clothes always fit properly. I do hope the company continues in the same excellent fashion.
 | NANCY L. | 07/05/07 | |

Liz Claiborne clothing is classy and timeless. I have worn her line of clothing for years. I was terribly saddened by her passing.
 | Lee C. | 07/05/07 | |
I can't begin to tell you how many clothes, purses, and other items I bought by Liz, Elizabeth, Emma James, and numerous other names that jump out and say Liz. She left too soon but was here long enough to make a statement. My best to her entire family.
 | Carol M. | 07/05/07 | |
Liz clothing is 95% of my warerobe. I knew that if I went in to purchase a 3x petite piece of clothing by Liz it would fit perfectly, look attractive and would last. Buying her Petite Plus Woman's top, blasers and jackets was always enjoyable because she always had the proportions and arm holes right. I do hope this will continue - she did those of us petite but plus-sized people a great service.
 | Brenda Y. | 07/05/07 | |
I have always thought of Liz Claiborne as classy, down to earth clothes made by a women of the same description. I have always loved the styles and the quality and hope that they continue in the same tradition.
 | Julie S. | 07/05/07 | |
My mother won't wear anything but Liz Claiborne. If I have to give her a present, she'll list what Liz she wants next. even if we're not in the same state, I'm still shopping for Liz for her. She made timeless, classic clothes that made my mom & myself look classy over the decades. She made a Stamp in the fashion industry that few can touch. God speed.
 | ann w. | 07/05/07 | |
I was so sad when I heard about Liz Claiborne's passing, because she was the ultimate designer in my book. The clothes were always smart and first quality and we just don't see alot of that quality and design these days. She knew what we needed and she obliged. There will never be another "Liz",but I do hope her ideas and needs of the smart shopper continue in her absence. I loved all of her creations and have been a follower for many years.
 | Dianne B. | 07/05/07 | |
What a devastating loss is shared by all who have been Liz customers for a number of years. It doesn\'t matter if you are a 2P or a 2X Liz could always get it right. I am proud to do Christmas shopping in her departments as the gifts are well received and appreciated. I know in theory Liz will live on.
 | Riene W. | 07/05/07 | |
Ms. Claiborne visited Eagle, WI in the late 1990's and stayed with us in our home, a Bed & Breakfast.
She was a delightful guest and a very down to earth person that worked hard to achieve her goals. I trust she enjoyed some reward.
I was priviledge to have spent a bit of time with her.
 | Cynthia C. | 07/05/07 | |
I was sad to here of her passing and give my family condolences to hers. I have always enjoyed her brand of clothing and wish that her line continue.
 | Lorraine R. | 07/05/07 | |
I was saddended by the death of Liz. I have worn her clothes since 1983, always drawn by the colors and styles. I never had a problem with pants as they were always the right length (I am 6 ft tall)and now this 59 year old wears Elisabeth with the same aplomb! She will be missed!
 | Cynthia | 07/05/07 | |
I have worn Liz clothes almost exclusively for the past 20 years. I love the petite line.
My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
 | Lennie F. | 07/05/07 | |
It was "Liz" who first sold stylish petite clothing that I, as a young woman, could actually buy and wear right off the rack without spending a fortune in alterations! I still wear her petites and am still eternally grateful. And, I am over 70 years old now! My deepest sympathies to her family and colleagues. We will all miss her deeply.
 | Marjorie C. | 07/05/07 | |
I am a larger woman size 12 to 14. Liz had a flair for style that made me look great. I always knew that her clothing line would fit me and I always found exactly what I needed at her stores. I am very saddened to hear she is gone. Please continue to provide us-her followers with the same style and quality.
 | IRVING V. | 07/05/07 | |

 | MaryAnn G. | 07/05/07 | |
The loss of Liz Claiborne feels like a personal loss to me. I have always purchased her clothing line with the sure knowledge that the workmanship, style, and materials were going to be classic. I have Liz clothes that I purchased eight to ten years ago. I have had them altered, but because of their classic tailoring, they still fit the current styles.
It has been the only clothing line that fits a taller person, and I sincerely hope that the line does not change its quality and signature styling.
She was a genius and an icon. Her line is always my first choice.
 | Charlene T. | 07/05/07 | |
This woman took a large leap in the clothing industry as one of the few people to understand that large size women needed clothing for work and play that didn't look like large tents. Thanks Ms Claiborne
 | Lynn R. | 07/05/07 | |
I have always enjoyed all of my Liz Claiborne clothes. I always felt appropriately attired and confident when wearing Liz.
After becoming a plus size, I became ever more appreciative of the continued great taste of the Elisabeth Line. I almost always wear Elisabeth clothes. It appears that I am the model figure for the 1x petite and actually became a plus size model for the store. I felt so special.
I will miss Liz Claiborne and her amazing Elisabeth stores. The Lady really had style and taste.
Thank you, Liz, for remembering me as my body changed. Few designers ever cared to dress the plus size woman. You will be missed.
Fondly,
Lynn Russo (Your Fan)

I am very sorry and very shocked to hear the news about the unfortunate death of Liz Claiborne this past Tuesday of June,26, 2007. For women's fashions, especially the real working woman here in New York, her designer name was extremely famous, well known and very successful right after other woman fashion designers here in New York like Donna Karan. I remember my own mom buying a few or couple of Liz'z products back in the 1970's and maybe the 1980's as well. If there is any mailing address where I can send a card of sympathy to give my condolences and my mother's condolences for Liz Claiborne, let me know. Liz Claiborne was a very big and famous fashion designer for the career woman and business woman here in New York. Sorry about her shocking and unfortunate death. Take care.
 | Shirley T. | 07/05/07 | |
I first want to thank God for Liz Claiborne. She gave women a reason to look and feel their best everyday. When I first start my career the very first outfit I wear at the interview was Liz Claiborne; her clothes help me feel I can take on the world and win! Liz claiborne is more than style its empowerment for women of all ages and race. Thank you Ms. Liz Claiborne.
 | Mary B. | 07/05/07 | |
Liz Claiborne brand is guaranteed to be classic, smart, timeless clothes that you can be proud to wear and always look good. Thank you Liz and may your rest in peace. Hopefully your legacy will live on.
 | Merrily R. | 07/05/07 | |
I am just grateful Liz Claiborne was among us in the world all of the years. Her designs/clothes are still so important to me and still garner compliments. Even the shoes and purses were exactly my cup of tea. When I read in her obit that she had designed for Jonathan Logan back in her beginning days, it dawned on me that that was the reason I wore Jonathan Logan apparel when I was a young woman who was working full time and attending college. I hope her legacy continues.
 | Lisabell H. | 07/05/07 | |
I had never met Liz Claiborne, but have heard of her all my life. My mother and I have both worn clothing by her. Not only was she an icon, she was also a great inspiration to women everywhere. I have only joined the company as a Summer Intern, but had hopes of being able to meet this woman whom I also studied in Design school. I am sorry I won\'t get the chance. She will be missed by many. My heart and thoughts go out to her family.
 | Pamela T. | 07/05/07 | |
I was sad to learn of Ms. Claiborne's passing. I have about over a half dozen items from her product line, business brief, clothes, etc. Her style and sophistication fits every style. I purchase a lot of things, but I am more confident with my LC. My firends are always saying to me, "That's a Liz isn't it? She will be truely missed.
 | Susan S. | 07/05/07 | |
My late husband always said "You would wear a gunny sack if it had a Liz Claiborne label" She will be missed
 | Meg M. | 07/05/07 | |
Liz Claiborne is an inspiration to all working women. I wear her clothing all the time and her products are stylish and affordable and the quality is superior. I am deeply saddened by her death. The world has lost a very creative person. My sympathies to her family and the staff.

Liz Claiborne designed clothes that took me from my size zero teens to my plus size forties. All the lines of Claiborne clothing are just the perfect fit for the American woman. I still have my first Liz bag and will give it up to no one! And her fragrances have always been favorites. Clean and crisp without being overwhelming. Just like her clothing! My sympathies go out to the families of Liz Claiborne and all those associated with such a fantastic brand.
 | Patricia D. | 07/04/07 | |
I was very sorry to hear the news. I have enjoyed shopping at Many stores for Liz wear, including the Liz outlet stores for many years. I always feel well dressed and comfortable. Liz will be missed by many
 | Jacky G. | 07/04/07 | |
Not only was Liz Claiborne a role model for women, from an era in which we truly needed role models, to me, more importantly, she was a real woman who understood real women's needs. Reading everyone's comments below, and seeing the abundance of us who are traditionally hard to fit sizes, it is clear that Ms. Claiborne's legacy is to the millions of women for whom she made stylish living possible. I am a plus-size petite and have been very upset about the closing of the Elisabeth stores, feeling once again marginalized in a world that generally only values perfect size sixes. I hope that Ms. Claiborne's legacy will be the continued attention to plus size, plus size petite, and non-plus size petite women. Her death should be a clarion call to renew her mission to give access to professional, casual, sporty, and special occasion clothing to all women, not just the few who fit a mold.
 | Sharon H. | 07/04/07 | |
Awww, such a loss. What a wonderful designer who knew what women should look like and designed for us! Her fashions were always comfortable, classy and beautifully crafted. She made American women look great. THANK YOU, LIZ CLAIBORNE, for restoring confidence in women returning to the workforce, in helping young women start their careers in lovely professional fashions, and for making all women, all shapes and sizes LOVE what they looked like in a Liz Claiborne outfit! I am so sad for her family and friends.
 | Theresa A. | 07/04/07 | |
What a super designer we have lost. Please tell us her wonderful line of clothing will NOT be discontinued. We petites need more of the best ! God Bless Liz.
 | Carole C. | 07/04/07 | |
Liz paved the way for the working girl on a budget to be be the sleek well dressed professional on a modest salary. When her fashion line arrived in the stotes 30 yrs ago it took the secretary to a new level. Her line of clothing would catch my eye in an instant and I could trust her fashions to keep me looking great and the talk of the water cooler "did you see what she wore to day". Thanks Liz for your sharing your talent with the fashion world.
 | Dolores S. | 07/04/07 | |

I was sorry to hear that Liz Claiborne had passed away. I have been buying her clothes for many years. I had finally found a "brand" of clothes that fit me, were comfortable and looked good. So whenever I need clothes, I go straight to the Liz department.
 | Charlotte M. | 07/04/07 | |
I am so sorry for the loss of Ms. Claiborne. I felt as if I knew her personally because I loved her clothing line. Whenever I need clothing for something special, I can rest assured I can find something fabulous from Liz. Her styles and fabric choices I love, the way they fit, her accessories, shoes, purses, you name it, my closet is full of Liz Claiborne. Her loss is like losing an old friend. I hope that the "Liz Claiborne" companies continue to be an inspiration of style and elegance in the years ahead. Thank you.

back when I was a Shipping Manager for Liz, I will never forget that way she always made you feel comfortable around her. I remember one particular time Liz was making an apperance at bambergers to doa fashion show. We at the corprate warehouse worked like crazy to make the store look as perfect as we could. When Liz did a walk through the store and later after the show she called me over and thnaked me for all the work that my group which was the Dress Division had done. I will always remember her for the way she gratful for the things we did and the way she made us all feel special.
 | Jim B. | 07/04/07 | |
My condolences to Liz's family ,she was truly a great lady. My fondest memory of her is when I was working at her company and came to her with the news that the gilrs at the corprate warehouse were going to have a softball team. She was so excited and was truly a backer of the idea. I know that I and all the girls that played that year were grateful for all her support.
